STARLA SIRENO

Explorer.  Instigator.  Bon Vivant. Seeker.

Having traveled to more than 30 countries, Starla uses the experiences in her life as a tool for self-development and to help her better understand the lives of others.

Diving has helped her focus on her breath in a way that meditation never has.  After being certified in the cold, murky waters of Monterey, her most memorable dives have been the Blue Hole in Belize and a night dive with manta rays in Hawaii.  As a hiker, she has trekked to the Hill Tribes in Thailand and the back country of Yosemite.  And as a cultural seeker, she has immersed herself in the indigenous healing traditions of Mexico, marveled at the majesty of gorillas up close in Rwanda and spent a month living in a small town in India volunteering on a microfinance project.

In 2016 Starla undertook her most recent adventure – her “year of dating cities.”  Having fallen out of love with San Francisco, she put everything into storage and spent the year living in Airbnb’s around the country.  Over the course of the year, she lived in Boulder, San Diego, Healdsburg, Miami and New Orleans before finally admitting to herself that it was New York all along.

Starla does her best to live by the quote:

I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it.  I want to have lived the width of it as well.
